ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: WE FOUND LOVE, and so did Lok Hong.

One of the very first questions we have asked ourselves and posted on The Essentialist was ‘Why so serious?’. In other words we have been wondering why majority of the AI generated art so rarely represents positive emotions, like true happiness or love, to name a few. Is it hard for the algorithm to answer love prompts? We even have attempted to make a bit of a research in the subject matter and get to know what emotions are, and what makes them different from feelings, why they could be hard to visualize by the AI and most importantly where is the love?! (you can read the whole story here)

Well, after weeks spent on a search mission we are thrilled to announce that we found love. It’s in Lok Hong’s portfolio. The photographer, turned AI artist, has an incredible way of incorporating great spectrum of emotions into his art. From their cinematic look and the light work you can instantly tell the author has something to do with „pictures”, whether it’s photography or movies, Lok’s art is definitely worth checking out. Not only the pieces relted to love stand out, but also the ‘subway’ series.

Yellow diamonds in the light
Now we’re standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine (mine, mine, mine)
We found love in a hopeless place…
