AI BITS: MACRO SHOTS, THE UNDERWATER KISS & PROMPTING A COMIC BOOK GUIDE

BIT #1

Product shots done in Midjourney are one thing, which we have actually been talking about before, like many others out there, but have you ever wondered if the generative AI is capable of answering your prompts with decent macro shots, product close-ups, or detailed pack shots? Say jewelry, that could be a hard nut to crack, right? Not necessarily.

The Midjourney Queen, Salma Aboukar, an experienced product photo expert, is also testing the v5 Midjourney with what she knows best… and likes most: hoop earrings! Apparently, it turns out macro photography is no issue for the generative AI either.

And this is what she was aiming at:

BIT #2

Imagine a beautiful scene under the water, two lovers and three prompters. Yes, you heard us right, we have recently stumbled upon a great Twitter thread by one of the most active and very inspiring AI pioneers Artichoke AI (@artichokes_art) with incredible underwater shots of a kissing couple. Just take a look.

artist: @artichokes_art / prompt: ‘breathtaking underwater photo shot of a young girls in flowing and colourful dresses kissing naively with a pounding heart by Conrat Roset and Alberto Seveso, award-winning fashion photography, precious sunbeams reflect on the surface of the water, penetrating into the water’s deeper layers, creating iridescent reflections, first love, forbidden love, heaven, photograph taken by Canon EOS R3, 85mm lens, f/ 1. 8, tilt-shift lens, tilt angle perspective, low angle, view from below, underwater scene, opaline bubbles, shimmering ripples, summer romance magic atmosphere, clear sea-water, long floating hair, full body lots of feminity, feminine pose, dreamy, dreamlike, muse, heavenly soft light, smooth, hyper-detailed, beautifully color-coded, photorealistic, intense shading, clean sharp focus, depth of field, dynamic angle, dynamic composition, bokeh, –ar 3:2 –q 2 –s 750 –v 5’ / source: Twitter

Amazing shots. In one of the comments they got them even animated by @tomislav_rupic using Genmo.

The original creations and prompts were actually found by the artist in a public Midjourney gallery, done by a user named Hubi. However, after a few moments it was clear that the original author of the Underwater Kiss is in fact somebody else, namely another outstanding AI artist Óscar Bartolomé (@Artedeingenio).

artist: Óscar Bartolomé / prompt: breathtaking beauty underwater medium shot of two young and beautiful girls in flowing and colourful dresses kissing naively with a pounding heart by Conrat Roset and Alberto Seveso, first love, a forbidden love, feel like in heaven, precious sunbeams reflect on the surface of the water, penetrating into the water’s deeper layers and creating iridescent reflections, photograph taken by Canon EOS R3, 85mm lens, f/ 1. 8, tilt-shift lens, award-winning fashion photography, tilt angle perspective, low angle, view from below, underwater scene, opaline bubbles, shimmering ripples, summer romance magic atmosphere, clear sea-water, long floating hair, full body lots of feminity, feminine pose, dreamy, dreamlike, muse, heavenly soft light, smooth, hyper-detailed, beautifully color-coded, photorealistic, intense shading, clean sharp focus, depth of field, dynamic angle, dynamic composition, bokeh –ar 16:9 –s 1000 –c 10 –uplight –q 2 –v 5 / source: Twitter

Hubi, apparently, just took them over. That’s the risk we could be facing in the nearest future when sharing prompts publicly in the name of education. Let’s give kudos to the two real artist @Artedeingenio & @artichokes_art who did some really great and much needed work, not only by educating the community with the prompt used for such amazing creatives, but also by the same act of sharing their attitude toward the mutual generative AI knowledge-base and arts value development. Well noted guys!

BIT #3

It is an unimaginable effort to create a comic book, or we should rather say, it was? The Midjourney could be quite a booster here. The input on the AI of Mx Kashtanova is more than amazing! Dunno if you guys have seen it, but they even put up a video tutorial on the YT channel AI Tutorials with Kris Kashtanova entitled “Create a comic book page with me using Midjourney, Comic Life 3, and Photoshop”.

Who has ever wanted to create a graphic novel? Who? Well, you can do it now. If you don’t know how, then just jump to the second part of the above called ‘Make comic books with Adobe Firefly keeping consistent characters‘. That’s one hell of advice to follow when you are at the beginning of your graphic novel journey.

Some have already taken it seriously, like Time Traveler (@timetravelr2025), using 12 prompts for 12 various images, and as the author said:

‚The speech bubbles and layout are done in the Comic Life app. I prompted each image separately in Midjourney, and then imported them into Comic Life.’
